Alternative Transportation

VCU encourages students, faculty and staff to utilize alternative forms of transportation, like biking, walking and carpooling to commute around the city. VCU Parking and Transportation offers several options and benefits to greening your transportation.

RamBikes is a full-service bike shop where students can repair their bikes themselves or get assistance from our experienced staff, as well as learn about upcoming workshops and group rides. Students will have to provide their own replacement parts if necessary. For more information about these services, visit www.bikes.vcu.edu or contact VCU RamBikes at rambikes@vcu.edu or (804) 828-BIKE.

RamRide AKA The Campus Connector, is a free shuttle service for faculty, staff and students that helps you travel safely and conveniently to, from and around VCU's campuses. RamRide routes connect the Monroe Park Campus with the MCV Campus.

RamAway provides free transportation to and/or from the Richmond International Airport, Greyhound bus station, and Amtrak at Main Street Station and Staples Mill Road.

GRTC Bus Passes - Full and part-time students on the Monroe Park Campus and the MCV Campus can navigate through Richmond by using the GRTC transit system with semester long discounted passes.

Zimride is VCU's private social network for ride sharing. Students can split the costs of driving their vehicle by sharing their rides with fellow VCU students. Zimride can also be used to find rides for commutes, popular events, and long trips outside the Richmond area.

Visit VCU Parking & Transportation's page for more information on these and a full list of the options available.
