The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) has created a university-focused sustainability tracking system. This system is entitled Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). VCU was awarded a Silver-level STARS rating in 2012 and again in 2015.
The Princeton Review’s Guide to 353 Green Colleges profiles 347 institutions of higher education in the United States and 6 outside the U.S. that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparations. The guide is the only free, comprehensive, annually updated guide to green colleges. VCU has been ranked in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The League of American Bicyclists has recognized Virginia Commonwealth University as a Bicycle Friendly University at the Silver level, making VCU among the top 40 schools for cycling in the country, and the highest in Virginia! See our results.
